Monday Monday, la la la la la….
Not a lot happened today. I didn’t set an alarm and slept until I was ready to get up (8.42). I was super productive this morning and filled out a bunch of forms and sent out some important e-mails etc. I made lunch and then met my friends at Piccadilly Circus to buy tickets for Mamma Mia! only they were more than we wanted to pay for really crappy seats and they didn’t have any together, so we scrapped that and instead bought tickets to Jersey Boys.
We decided to wander around again, and ended up in the big old book store and Fortnam and Masons again, even though I was just there on Friday. I took some more pictures with Flat Monty. We shopped around a bit and then came back to the res hall. I finished 2 papers and printed them out, so that I can turn them in in the morning and I’ll be all finished with school work until exams start. But that was all really I managed to do tonight.
Then Jersey Boys. Wow! It is one of the best Theatre Highs I’ve had all semester. It is a musical that tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, so I knew tons of the songs before I saw it, which made it even better. It was all I could do not to sing along, and I couldn’t always stop myself. There were all sorts of people all over the audience just bobbing their heads and doing little dances in their seats and stuff. It was also the only one of about 15 shows I saw this semester that the audience gave a standing ovation to at the end. That just doesn’t happen in Britain like it does in the States, its one of the cultural differences. But this show rocked. Even my Dad would have liked it. If it ever tours and comes to Greenville, I’ll have a Christmas/Birthday/Father’s Day present for him, whichever holiday is closest.
But now I’m going, because I’m super exhausted.
